Thinking About Joining TriLatino?  Let us tell you what is in it for you!

TriLatino’s membership is seasonal.  We are in training from Tuesday, March 2nd to Saturday, October 30th.

Membership dues for 2010 are as low as $295.  After doing the math, this translates to $37 per month or $3 per training session.  Unheard off!

As a nonprofit organization, we are in the business of ensuring that every person that wishes to engage in sports has an affordable way of doing so.  Our professional coaches support our mission.  They provide best in class training at deeply discounted rates so that you can focus on staying healthy.  We take care of the rest!

What is Included with Membership?

Membership generally includes four coached training sessions a week (swim, bike, run), three open water sessions per season, BRick (bike/run) training, and several informational clinics.  Yes!  All of this is included throughout the season!

TriLatino’s training program gets you ready, whether you are thinking of running your first 5k, learning how to overcome your fear of water, move up from a sprint to an Olympic distance triathlon, or race your first marathon or half ironman race.

Most of our training happens outdoors so you can enjoy nature while you exercise.  Normally our training schedule includes the following sessions:

Tuesday and Thursday Run Workouts
Central Park – 90th St. and 5th Ave. - 6:30 p.m.
These bi-weekly coached sessions are designed to complement each other, regardless of training for a triathlon or a marathon.  These structured training sessions will include endurance training, speed work, intervals, fartleks, and hill repeats all geared to develop speed, strength, efficency and form.  Workouts will begin with a warm-up and drill set, followed by the main set and cool-down.  Each athlete MUST bring their own hydration to every session.

Friday Swim Sessions
Iowa Sports - Indoor Pool - 94th St. and 3rd Ave. - 6:00 p.m.

Basic Swim:  The basic swim session is geared to very beginner swimmers who have never participated in triathlon or swam over 400 yards continuously.  Swimming can be very stressful for beginners, as they usually suffer from anxiousness due to the inability to breath regularly and sinking from improper body posture in the water.   This session will focus on breaking down swim technique to its simplest and basic forms in order to slowly build confidence in the water.   The first weeks are spent on breathing, body posture, learning front quadrant swimming and body rotation.  After the athlete masters these skills the focus is shifting to endurance swimming.

Advanced Swim:  The advanced swim session is for athletes who have some swimming and open water experience.  However, since most adult triathletes do not come from swim backgrounds they have developed inefficient swim strokes.   The goal of the advanced swim is teach the athletes how to become more efficient in the water.   We teach proper technique using up to date swim principles and theories.  We then combine the swim principles with form specific drills.   In the end the athletes are able to improve their swim times by learning to expend less energy.

Saturday Bike Skills, Long Rides and Bricks
Central Park – 90th St. and 5th Ave. and other locations - Saturday morning
The coached bike session workouts will target specific fitness areas with structured workouts that will help you develop coordination, speed, strength and/or power.  The workouts will generally be interval-driven, with specific periods of high activity followed by periods of rest and recovery.  For example, one session might include short hill repeats followed by recovery efforts that target pedaling technique.  Another session might feature intervals of high-cadence pedaling followed by a recovery period.  Because the cycling levels of our members may vary, the workouts will be createdto be short and intense so that the team can somewhat regroup in the recovery period.

Open Water Swims
Get over the fear of jumping into open water.  Supervised training to experience open water before race day!  Training takes place in various locations in and around NYC.

TriLatino reserves the right to adjust the training schedule for safety, administrative and other purposes.
