Informational Clinics

TriLatino is not only about training.  We are also interested in helping you understand the reasons behind most of the stuff that you do during training.  This is why we have put together a series of clinics, so that members learn as they engage in healthier living.  Fifty percent of our clinics are included with regular membership and the rest are available for a minimum entry fee.  All of these clinics will have take away materials so the learning continues past the information session.

Intro to TriLatino
Come learn all that you need to know about TriLatino before we start training! Familiarize yourself with our workout session structure, commonly used terms, official races, the team’s setup, TriLatino Coaches and their training philosophy, and the volunteering opportunities in store for you this season. This will be the perfect chance for you to meet your fellow teammates, coaches, and TriLatino staff (if you haven’t already). So don’t be shy!  Join this important information session.  It’s the perfect opportunity to ask all the questions you might have about training and break the ice before the first session. - This clinic is included with membership and strongly encouraged for all members.

Running Form and the Importance of Running in the Right Shoes
Jack Rabbit expert staff will share some tips on good running form and why its fundamental for each athlete to learn which is the best running shoe for each athlete.  This is an important conversation to be part of at the beginning of the race season.  Besides, why not show up if they will have special discounts for those in attendance.  - This clinic is included with membership and special discounts will apply the day of the event..

Bike Shopping and Tire Changing Clinic
Now that you signed up for the challenge, its time to get a bike if you don't already have one.  Let our bike coach Bobby and the experts at Toga guide you on what to look for in a bike depending on your goals and your budget.  Once they provide you with some guidance, members of their staff will introduce you to models in different categories so you can get an idea of what you want in a bike.  There is also something for those lucky ones who already own a bike!  Tire changing clinic!  Learn to change your flat.  A safety lesson every athlete needs to know.  - This clinic is included with membership and special discounts will apply the day of the event.

Injury Prevention
This workshop will teach you how to use stretching techniques to avoid injury.  Come prepared to learn how to use a foam roller, a yoga mat, and your own body to prevent injuries.  - This clinic is available to TriLatino members at a low fee through TriLatino's access card.  Also available to non-members with a drop-in fee. 

Race Transition / Brick Training
The session will start with a in depth explanation of all of the necessary things to take into consideration when transitioning from one discipline to the next.  This session will only include bike to run transition (T2) but the swim to bike transition (T1) will be explained in detail.  Come ready with your bike, running shoes, and everything else you will be using in transition during a race, as this informational session/workout will be fun and challenging! - This clinic is included with membership.

Triathlon Gear
So you are new to the sport and don’t know what to wear on race day?  Are you a seasoned athlete just wondering if there is anything "new" out on the market?  In partnership with Jack Rabbit Sports, Coach Jaime will explain everything you need to know, what you will need on race day, and important tips to stay safe and chafe-free!  - This clinic is included with membership and special discounts will apply the day of the event.

Nutrition for every day living
Every training session should be complemented with great nutrition.  As you try to change the old bad habits, you will need help and guidance to discover what new food elements should be included in your diet.  As an athlete, the food choices you made have a big impact on performance.  During this session Jaime will speak on how to make the transition from unhealthy habits that you might not even be aware about to healthy eating.  - This clinic is available to TriLatino members at a low fee through TriLatino's access card.  Also available to non-members with a drop-in fee.

Race Day Nutrition
An extended conversation on what every athlete should consider when thinking about race day Nutrition.  This session will go into the details of what products are the most effective depending on specific training needs.  An expert in supplements will co-host this session and provide participants with samples to try different products. - This clinic is available to TriLatino members at a low fee through TriLatino's access card.  Also available to non-members with a drop-in fee.

Functional Strength Training for the Triathlete
Learn the basics of a functional strength training program specific to the multi-sports athlete.  This type of training can reduce your injury risk and improve your performance by continuously increasing your power, strength and stability.  This sport specific training can bring you to a whole new level!  - This clinic is available to TriLatino members at a low fee through TriLatino's access card.  Also available to non-members with a drop-in fee.

Understanding Your Heart Rate Monitor
