HEAD COACH DANNY ARTIGA
Head Coach
Coaching experience: Over 8 years in triathlon and long distance running, including coaching for several Running/Triathlon Coaching Programs for City Coach, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Nike & Jack Rabbit Sports.
Coaching Certifications: USA CYCLING Level 3 Certified Coach, USA Olympic & USA Triathlon Certification on Endurance Sports, Dealing with the Female Athlete Certification.
Racing experience: Lifetime athlete with broad experience completing marathons, triathlons of various distances and former professional soccer player hailing from El Salvador.
JOE BACHANA
Junior Team Head Coach
Coaching Experience: Over 7 years in triathlon and endurance sports.
Coaching Certifications and Training: USAT Level II Elite/ITU triathlon coach, USAT Youth & Junior Certified Coach, USA Cycling Level II Certified Cycling Coach, USA Cycling Certified Power Based Coach, Certified POSE Method Instructor
Racing Experience: Joe grew up as a track and field athlete as well as a basketball player and later decided to channel his love for sports and competition through Triathlon. He has been competing in duathlons and triathlons since 1992 and has placed in a number of age group and Clydesdale category races throughout the United States.
JARED SAKOLSKY
Coach
Coaching Experience: Over 4 years coaching and mentoring athletes in triathlon and endurance sports.
Coaching Certifications: USAT Level I Certified since 2013
Racing Experience: 2x Ironman Finisher, 5x Half Ironman Finisher, 5x Marathon Finisher, 2013 Ironman North American Championship Finisher
Outside of triathlon: Jared handles the scheduling and traffic for 4 TV Networks. His previous work experience includes working for Concert TV, RCA, Arista and Sanctuary Records.
Other highlights: TriLatino Membership Director since 2011.
EDEL BORRERO
Assistant Coach
Coaching Experience: Over 9 years coaching and mentoring athletes in triathlon and endurance sports.
Racing Experience: Has participated in over 20 Endurance Events ranging from triathlons of differing lengths, running races and bike events
Outside of Triathlon: When not competing in Triathlons, Edel works as a Document Word Processor/Graphic Specialist. In addition to his work with TriLatino, he serves as a Board Member for The Acacia Network, the nation’s second largest Hispanic Non Profit and was the recipient of the 2011 El Award from El Diario La Prensa, the oldest Spanish-language daily newspaper in the United States. The El
Awards are an annual award given to the most influential and successful Latino men in academia, public service, sports, business, and entertainment.
JIM WU
Coach
Coaching Experience: Head Coach of Bearcat Masters
Coaching Certifications: ASCA Level 1, Level 2 USMS, Adult Learn To Swim, WSI, and CPR/AED Certified
Background: Jim grew up moving from location to location while swimming for the local clubs. Swimming for COR in Dallas, TX and the Northern Lights Club in Anchorage, AK he eventually captained the Dhahran Swim Team in Saudi Arabia. Continuing on to boarding school in Switzerland, Jim again captained the team while writing workouts where he grew to love coaching.
Joining the Bearcats in 2009, he gradually built up the dryland program and now includes a variety of exercises including core, plyometrics, activation, and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). He welcomes all swimmers and dryland enthusiasts and hopes to help them develop their skills at all levels.
